These benefits can make a world of difference to seniors on Georgia Disability or who have income and assets below a certain threshold. I strongly encourage you to apply for these benefits. Give us a call and we can help if need be, but here are the resources for Medicaid in Georgia and the LIS Extra Help program for seniors in Georgia.

GEORGIA MEDICAID

Medicaid is a state funded program for helping folks beneath certain income and asset limits AND/OR who have a disability.

From a Medicare perspective, you can be on Medicare AND receive help from Medicaid. If approved, Medicaid would then assist with your Medicare costs. If you are approved for Medicaid in Georgia there are special Medicare Insurance plans called “Dual Eligible” Medicare Plans that I can help you receive at no cost to you that will provide additional benefits over and above what Medicare and Medicaid alone will provide. Some include meal plans, help with transportation, medical equipment, over the counter items and more.

The level to which Medicare might help is based on your income (or disability). Here is the latest guidelines from Georgia Medicaid
