Assisted Living And Caregiver Insurance

Assisted living insurance

Unfortunately Medicare does not cover the full costs of assisted living in Georgia or any other states. As you can see from the image below Medicare will pay the first 20 days and only if you have been in the hospital at least 3 full days prior. Medicare does not pay for the largest part of long term care services or personal care such as help with bathing, or for supervision often called custodial.

Medicare will stop paying when you no longer require skilled care, stop showing improvement or hit the maximum benefit of 100 days (whichever comes first). Medicare will not pay your spouse or anyone else to help you for any long term basis while you are at home. Just a handful of visits after an inpatient stay.

Those deemed financially needy who qualify for the state program called Medicaid can get these items paid for, but only a fraction of seniors qualify when the time comes. It has income and asset limits that are very low.

Guarantee Trust Life has a new policy that will pay you if you enter the nursing home in Georgia or any other state, and with an optional rider, you can have your spouse or other non licensed home caretaker paid $3,500.
